Celem programu ‘Reach Out To Asia’ jest pomoc od Kataru dla innych krajow dotknietych bieda, brakiem odpowiedniej opieki medycznej, bezdomnoscia, czy naturalnymi tragediami (jak np. tsunami czy trzesienie ziemi w Pakistanie).
On the 1st of February Brian Adams will give a concert in Doha, a concert will ake place in Al Sadd Stadium. Local band, The Jive Turkey, will perform before Adams.
Tickets for the concert are selling
quickly; those for the seated area of the stadium are almost sold out,
organisers of the event said, adding they expect a capacity crowd of
about 8,000 people.
Tickets may not be available at the door and seat allocation in the stadium will be on a first-come-first basis, they said.
The Doha event is now the exclusive
Bryan Adams concert in the Gulf since his programmes in Dubai and
Kuwait were cancelled due to the deaths of the leaders of the two
countries.
All proceeds from the concert will go
to charity in aid of the Reach Out To Asia appeal fund, initiated by HE
Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad al-Thani, daughter of HH the Emir.
‘Reach Out To Asia’ is aimed at Qatar
extending the hand of friendship and help to many countries across the
continent, which are experiencing serious social difficulties in terms
of poverty, inadequate healthcare, homelessness, disease and natural
disasters, such as last year’s devastating tsunami and the recent
earthquake in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.
