Kilka dni temu wybralismy sie na pustynie, zobaczyc (i uslyszec) spiewajace piaski. Zabladzilismy, zapytalismy o droge lokalnego Araba, wyprowadzil nas w pole (no dobra, nie w pole, ale na pustynie), bo ani w zab nie rozumial, o co nam chodzi, i gdy juz po 3 godzinach bladzenia mielismy sie poddac, gdy juz mielismy wracac do domu, oto i one, zupelnie przypadkiem je znalezlismy!!!! Spiewajace piaski!
Jest to niezwykle fascynujace, naturalne zjawisko – na pustyni slychac takie buczenie, podobne nieco do samolotu lecacego w oddali. Odglos ten jest spowodowany tarciem piasku, ktory spada z wierzcholka wydmy. Podobno dzwiek ten slychac z odleglosci 10 kilometrow!!! Pustynia zazwyczaj jest bardzo cicha – nie ma tam samochodow, zwierzat (no moze oprocz wielbladow, ale te zazwyczaj laza bezglosnie), ptakow… zatem takie buczenie jest czyms niezwyklym. Acha, piaski rowniez wibruja, zjezdzajac w dol takiej wydmy nie tylko slyszalam jak ‘spiewa’, ale rowniez czulam jak cala wibruje… Niesamowite!
Spiewajace piaski sa niezwykle rzadkim zjawiskiem, na calym swiecie jest tylko kilka takich miejsc, w ktorych mozna zobaczyc i uslyszec spiewajace piaski. Aby pustynia ‘zaspiewala’ nie wystarczy tylko piach spadajacy w dol wydmy – potrzebne sa rowniez inne czynniki, takie jak odpowiednia wielkosc ziaren piasku, odpowiednio wiejacy wiatr, wilgotnosc powietrza rowniez jest bardzo wazna….
Bylo to niesamowite przezycie – warto bylo bladzic przez 3 godziny aby znalezc to miejsce (droga powrotna zajela nam…………. 1 godzine :)).
Few days ago we went to the desert to see (and hear) singing sand dunes. We got lost, we asked a local Arab for the way, he didn’t understand what we want from him, so God knows way to where he showed us, and when we were just to give up and go home after 3 hours of driving around the desert, there they were, we found them by accident!! Singing sand dunes! This is incredibly fascinating natural phenomenon – you can hear humming, similar a bit to a plane flying far far away. This humming is caused by the sand going down the dune. They say the sound can be heard 10 kilometers away!! Desert normally is very quiet – there are no cars, animals (ok, apart from camels, but they just wander around making no noise whatsoever), birds… so humming is something unusual. And the sand also vibrates, going down the dune I not only heard ‘singing’, but I also could feel the dune vibrate…. Incredible.
Singing dunes are a very rare phenomenon, on the whole world there are only few places like this. Because it’s not enought for the desert to ‘sing’ if the sand goes down the dune. Also the type of sand itself is important, together with precise wind and moisture conditions….
It was incredible experience – it was worth looking for it for 3 hours (the way back home took us only 1 hour). :))
