Byc moze nie uwierzycie, ale juz sie nauczylam, ze po abbaya mozna rozroznic status finansowy kobiety, oraz to, czy jest ona modna czy nie. Bo nie wszystkie abbaye sa takie same. Moga byc z lepszych materialow, lub z gorszych, moga miec rozne zdobienia wokol mankietow i dolu ‘sukni’ – wyszywania, czarne (czasem nawet kolorowe) koraliki, naszywane rozne ‘latki’, czy inne aplikacje. Niektore sa nawet odrobine dopasowane! Ceny abbaya roznia sie, i moga byc bardzo tanie, albo bardzo drogie. Najdrozsza abbaya, ktora ja widzialam, kosztowala 700 QR.
Arabki uwielbiaja byc modne. Pod abbaya maja najczesciej piekne ubrania, ktorymi chwala sie przed kolezankami. Markowe ciuchy, torebki, buty – to tutaj normalka.
Czesto – co wyglada dosyc smiesznie – taka dziewczyna jest zaslonieta od stop do glow, lacznie z oczami, ale abbaya niby ‘przypadkiem’ jej sie rozchyla co chwila, pokazujac markowe jeansy albo modna sukienke.
Perhaps you won’t believe it, but I already learnt that just by looking at abbaya one can say what the financial status of the wearer is, or whether she’s fashionable or not. Because not all abbayas are the same. They can be made of better or worse materials, they can have various embroidery on the sleeves or on the bottom, sometimes various things sawn on them, beaded, there can be various ‘decorative’ stuff on the abbayas. Some of the abbayas are even not too loose, they are kind of ‘fitted’ (of course not much, just about).
Abbayas may be very cheap or they can be very expensive. The most expensive abbaya that I saw cost 700 QR.
Arab women love to be fashionable. Under abbayas they have usually beautiful clothes, which they show off to their female friends. Designer clothes, bags, shoes – it’s something normal here, very common.
Often – what looks quite funny – a girl is wearing abbaya, she’s coverd heads to toes, even her eyes are covered, but her abbaya ‘accidentaly’ opens on the bottom, shows designer jeans or fashionable lovely dress 🙂
